Nicaragua is one of the largest producers of Caribbean lobster, known for its high-grade raw tails and growing international reputation in premium seafood markets.
Production is centred around Corn Island-based facilities, which receive landings from both industrial freezer vessels and artisanal shore-based fishers operating along Nicaragua’s Caribbean coast.
100% of all Nicaraguan Lobsters sold by Wild Seas are wild-caught.
Sustainability & Management
The Nicaraguan lobster fishery has successfully completed a Fishery Improvement Project (FIP) and is progressing toward MSC certification.
It operates under a limited entry management system and is supported by a mix of industrial and artisanal operators. Processing plants adhere to strict HACCP protocols and are regularly audited to meet EU export and food safety standards.
