Paralomis granulosa

Paralomis granulosa, commonly known as Chilean Snow Crab, is native to the cold southern waters of South America. This species is easily identified by its thick legs and rounded carapace. Males can grow up to 16.5 cm across, while females typically reach around 9.5 cm.

Chilean Snow Crab is highly regarded for its sweet, white meat and delicate texture — making it a preferred choice across global seafood markets.

The product is processed and frozen using advanced systems to preserve flavour, maintain moisture, and ensure consistent quality across formats.

Sustainability & Management

The fishery is governed by Sernapesca (Chile’s National Fisheries and Aquaculture Service), under the legal framework of the Fisheries and Aquaculture Act.

Strict sustainability controls are in place to protect the long-term health of the resource, including harvest limits, species safeguards, and seasonal management. Only licensed artisanal vessels are permitted to participate, and the catch of female crabs is strictly prohibited to support natural reproduction.
